Prescription Plans or Drug Plans are the Part D of Medicare (D as in Drugs). When it comes to Prescription Plans there are two roads to choose between: an Advantage Plan (which we learned about earlier, with an integrated drug plan) or a "stand alone" Part D Plan through a private insurance company.
Part D "stand alone" plans vary from state to state. The plans have premiums that range from $14.60 and up. Some, but not all Prescription Plans have an annual deductible.
The only way to truly determine what "stand alone" drug plan fits your needs it by taking an inventory of your prescriptions, dosages and the annual cost.
